The role
As a Medical Assistant in an Internal Medicine clinic, you will perform patient rooming tasks including vital signs, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings.
You will assist providers with procedures and perform lab duties such as venipuncture, specimen handling, and CLIA-waived tests, including POCT per standing orders.
You will administer medications and vaccines following safe practices and the rights of administration.
You will support care coordination with medication refills, referrals, insurance authorizations, appointment scheduling, and patient messaging.
You will maintain a clean and stocked clinical environment, ensure equipment functionality, and demonstrate age-appropriate care across the lifespan.
You will communicate effectively with patients and the care team, escalate issues as needed, and cross-train to support various clinic practices.
