The role
A Principal Mechanical Engineer in Glasgow leads the development of mechanical designs for diverse energy projects, including power plants, waste-to-energy facilities, and carbon capture schemes. They collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop cost-effective, innovative technical solutions from conception through detailed design and construction. The role includes preparing specifications, calculations, and datasheets for major equipment such as turbines, pumps, and pressure vessels whilst supporting operational assets' integrity. Experience in working within power generation, oil & gas, or similar industries, along with proficiency in engineering tools like MathCAD and MS Excel, is essential. Knowledge of international codes and standards, plant operation issues, and pressure vessel design is highly desirable.
