The role
A procurement specialist in Hartlepool is responsible for developing strategies for electricity, natural gas, utilities, and emissions allowances, including energy sourcing and pricing models. They monitor markets, analyse trends, and manage relationships with energy suppliers, brokers, and intermediaries. The role involves supporting budgeting, forecasting, consumption analysis, and cost modelling, as well as exploring green energy opportunities like PPAs, biomethane, and solar. Candidates should have at least five years' procurement experience, especially in volatile markets, with a strong understanding of energy markets and negotiation skills. Experience with renewable procurement, energy-intensive sectors, and specific energy market tools is advantageous. The role supports wider sustainability projects and requires strong analytical and commercial abilities.
