The role
The procurement specialist will support sourcing activities involving chemicals and gases used in manufacturing at a site in Manchester, working closely with stakeholders across production, engineering, environmental, and quality teams. They will identify and onboard suppliers, support global sourcing strategies, and manage supplier performance to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met. The role involves market research, data analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimise procurement processes and cost savings. Technical skills required include SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint, alongside strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, procurement, or supply chain, with at least three years' experience in manufacturing or engineering procurement. The incumbent should be adept in process improvement, change management, and operating in a fast-paced environment.
