The role
The Procurement Specialist will build and manage a reliable carrier network for port drayage and regional container moves.
Source capacity across NY/NJ, Savannah, Charleston, and other key markets while evaluating carriers on cost, service, compliance, and consistency.
Analyze lane-level costs, monitor accessorials, and identify cost leakage to protect margins.
Negotiate spot and contract rates, rebid underperforming lanes, and ensure competitive pricing with reliable execution.
Collaborate with operations and dispatch to validate costs, resolve service issues, and support high-volume container flow.
Track vendor performance using KPIs, maintain data in TMS and internal systems, and support pricing accuracy and cost modeling.
