The role
The IT Systems and Network Engineer position in Birmingham involves installing, configuring, and commissioning complex network servers, PCs, CCTV, and building monitoring systems used in maritime surveillance. The role requires ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical issues across various IT systems and networks, including servers and connectivity solutions. The candidate must support and train internal teams and customers to operate and maintain systems effectively. The role involves regular travel to international project sites, with periods of up to 12 weeks overseas, and requires adaptability and cross-cultural communication. Candidates should possess extensive experience with network and server configuration, including Windows/Linux platforms, and knowledge of VMWare, cloud services, and IT security practices.
