Registered Nurse, Psychiatric - Older Adult

The Registered Nurse delivers patient-centered psychiatric care to older adults in an inpatient setting, beginning with admission assessment and ongoing shift-based evaluations. They perform procedures and treatments as ordered, documenting care promptly in the medical record. They collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and execute holistic treatment plans that promote recovery. They respond promptly to patient needs, advocate for patients and families, and ensure quality of care. They coordinate continuation of care by interfacing with healthcare providers and community resources for ongoing support. They maintain core clinical competencies, including Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, and uphold established standards of practice.
