The role
The DBA provides technical support for the database environment and oversees SQL Server infrastructure.
Ensures new database code meets readability, reliability, and performance standards.
Identifies resource-intensive queries and implements performance improvements.
Develops efficient T-SQL, including stored procedures and views, to meet business needs.
Manages backups to satisfy Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and validates restore capabilities for Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
Installs and configures SQL Server instances, deploys change scripts, monitors systems, troubleshoots outages, and documents the environment.
