The role
A SQL Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the administration, maintenance, performance optimisation, and security of Microsoft SQL Server environments. The role involves supporting production databases, troubleshooting complex issues, implementing database changes, and maintaining high availability and data integrity. Candidates should have strong technical skills including backup, recovery, performance tuning, and security, as well as experience with high availability solutions. They must also possess excellent problem-solving abilities, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and have good scripting knowledge. The position requires experience with SQL Server management tools, and preferably cloud database services like Azure SQL. It is a remote contract role lasting between four to six months, offering attractive pay inside IR35.
