The role
A SQL Server Database Administrator is responsible for daily management and operation of database systems, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. They carry out database tuning, optimisation, and proactive maintenance across MSSQL environments, while also remediating vulnerabilities and maintaining proper technical documentation. The role requires experience in support functions, working with MSSQL, and understanding of both physical and virtual environments. The administrator also responds to helpdesk tickets, enforces data governance policies, and provides out-of-hours support on a rota basis. Key skills include support experience, MSSQL knowledge, and ability to work independently and collaboratively. A Security Clearance is essential for this position.
