The role
A Multimedia Journalist at Spectrum News NECN is responsible for engaging with local communities to uncover stories that matter, covering a range of issues through reporting, shooting, interviewing, and editing. They work across multiple media platforms including TV, digital, and connected television, utilising technical skills in video production and social media. The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to operate under tight deadlines, often working long or irregular hours to cover breaking news and weather events. They must be willing to travel within the community and interact with local residents to gather authentic perspectives. The position demands physical capability such as lifting up to 30 pounds and a valid driver's licence for travel within the area. Candidates should have over three years of broadcast journalism experience, a related degree or equivalent experience, and familiarity with video editing software.
