The role
A Principal Ecologist at Haskoning will lead complex terrestrial ecology projects and provide technical oversight on a range of ecological assessments and surveys. They oversee protected species surveys and manage project delivery from inception to post-construction phases, ensuring compliance and high-quality outputs. Technical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and client engagement are essential responsibilities, with collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. The role demands extensive ecological consultancy experience, including detailed report writing and survey management, with relevant qualifications and licences. Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills are required, along with adaptability and commercial awareness. Occasional travel and a valid UK driving licence are expected.
