The role
The role involves designing and maintaining scalable cloud software using Python and TypeScript, leading technical delivery by translating business roadmaps into clear technical tasks, and mentoring engineering team members. The engineer will work closely with principal engineers and architects, overseeing complex coding tasks and architectural challenges while ensuring adherence to best practices. Responsibilities include conducting code reviews, championing engineering standards, and managing features from design to deployment through CI/CD pipelines. Candidates should have experience with Python (preferably Django), cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and familiarity with database design and query optimisation. Experience in guiding technical decisions, reviewing code, and mentoring is essential, with additional skills in tools like React, Node.js, and Terraform being desirable.
