The role
The Specialty Doctor in General Adult Psychiatry assesses new referrals, diagnoses, and develops management plans for patients with mental health difficulties within a multidisciplinary Community Mental Health Team in Birmingham. The post involves working closely with various health professionals, including doctors, nurses, psychologists, and other specialists, in accordance with the Long Term Community Mental Health Transformation plan. Candidates should have at least four years postgraduate training, with two years in psychiatry or equivalent experience. Responsibilities include conducting Mental Health Act assessments and developing risk management strategies with the team and involved agencies. Training and mentorship support are provided, alongside opportunities for further professional development. The role aims to enhance mental health services and community care delivery in Birmingham.
