The role
A speciality doctor provides medical care to adults with complex mental health needs and autism spectrum disorders in a specialised setting. They work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists and psychologists to develop and implement personalised treatment plans. Their duties include conducting comprehensive assessments, reviewing patients' medical and psychiatric needs, and maintaining accurate records. They ensure compliance with mental health legislation and quality standards, and participate in clinical meetings to improve service delivery. Candidates should have an MBBS or equivalent, GMC registration, and completed specialty training in psychiatry or related fields. Experience with personality disorders is ideal, along with excellent communication skills and teamwork ability.
