The role
Manage professional accounting for Head Start and Early Head Start programs, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate, auditable financial records.
Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers, process accounts payable/receivable, and allocate payroll costs to grants.
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
Prepare detailed financial statements, budget-to-actual analyses, and required reports for OHS, state agencies, and funders.
Provide budgeting guidance and procurement documentation support to program staff while strengthening internal controls.
Ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), Head Start standards, and applicable agency policies; collaborate with the Finance Director.
