The role
A Ground Segment Software Engineer is responsible for developing mission-critical software for ground systems supporting space missions. The role involves designing scalable backend services and creating dynamic interfaces using modern frameworks, with knowledge of containerised environments like Docker and Kubernetes. Candidates should have experience in Java, Python or C++, and front-end technologies such as React, with a background in space sector applications. Additional skills in cloud platforms, CI/CD practices, database optimisation, and security are advantageous. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a hybrid work setting, based from an Oxfordshire office. An ideal candidate holds a STEM degree with extensive development experience, including within mission-critical applications in the space industry.
