The role
A legal counsel in Toronto will be a vital member of RBC's Procurement Legal Team, advising on third-party transactions, including technology and intellectual property licensing. The role involves structuring and documenting complex contracts, providing strategic advice, and interpreting legal risks related to third-party agreements. The person will also train and guide business partners, develop legal templates, and support special projects as needed. Candidates should possess a law degree and several years of contract drafting experience, with a strong understanding of commercial laws and financial regulations. In-house experience and knowledge of US and Canadian financial legislation are advantageous. The position requires analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
