The role
Serve as the top medical executive, accountable for medical care standards, coordination, and performance improvement in a long-term care facility.
Lead and supervise the medical staff; shape policies, priorities, and new clinical programs while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with Nursing leadership; participate in QA/QI committees and coordinate services among physicians and other clinicians.
Advance resident-centered care by promoting advance directives and supporting resident choice in care decisions.
Act as a liaison between administration and attending physicians; ensure pre-employment health screenings and ongoing staff education.
Oversee infection prevention, data analysis, and quality improvement initiatives; provide care during physician absence or emergencies.
