The role
A network engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining complex network environments using a variety of technologies including Cisco switches, firewalls, wireless systems, and cloud connectivity. They troubleshoot and resolve network issues, assist with project delivery, and ensure high network resilience within public sector environments. The role requires knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, VPNs, VoIP, and cloud services such as Microsoft 365 and Azure. Technical support, analytical skills, and clear communication are essential to manage diverse stakeholder requirements effectively. Some training opportunities are available for skill gaps, with the role including operational support and project contributions. The position is primarily based in Bradford with work across wider regional sites to ensure connectivity of critical services.
