The role
A Junior Doctor in Psychiatry is responsible for clerking new patients, conducting ward reviews and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings. They review cases requiring urgent medical or psychiatric attention, liaise with community teams and families, and prepare discharge summaries. The role involves working alongside a Consultant psychiatrist and other specialists within a hospital setting. Candidates should have a medical degree, the right to work in the UK, and relevant clinical experience, preferably in psychiatry. The position entails working a rota covering 48 hours per week, including on-call shifts, in a newly refurbished hospital with state-of-the-art facilities.
