The role
This role is an IT Cybersecurity Specialist positioned to support information security operations and defense of critical systems.
The role is recruited under the Cyber Excepted Service (10 USC 1599f) to advance the mission of the Cyber Command.
Responsibilities include incident response, vulnerability management, risk assessment, and applying security controls across networks and endpoints.
You will monitor and analyze security events with SIEM tools, coordinate threat mitigation, and enforce access controls and encryption standards.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, craft security documentation, and ensure policy compliance within federal guidelines.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and proactive attention to detail are essential in this fast-paced defense environment.
