The role

Based in San Francisco, CA or Sacramento, CA, this Construction Inspector role performs technical inspections of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems during construction or alteration of judicial branch facilities.
Reviews drawings and specifications, identifies inspection needs, and verifies workmanship and materials meet contract documents, building codes, and Title 24.
Conducts inspections including earthwork, concrete placement, steel fabrication and welding, masonry, wood framing, electrical and mechanical systems, and final project inspection.
Directs the work of contracted staff when needed and acts as a technical liaison to internal teams and external regulatory agencies.
Enforces California Building Standards Code and related regulations; provides input on capital projects, facilities maintenance, and major equipment purchases.
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree with 3 years of related experience (or substitute with more experience), a valid driver’s license, and relevant certifications such as ICC I5/C5, or Class 1/DSA, or Class A Hospital Inspector.
