The role
Provides labor and employment legal services to the City and assigned clients under the supervision of a senior attorney.
Conducts legal research and prepares opinions and position statements for EEOC, FCHR, OCR, and other entities.
Participates in collective bargaining and handles labor disputes including grievances, arbitrations, and unfair labor practices.
Prepares for and tries civil cases in state and federal courts, including depositions, pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial materials.
Investigates claims against the government and recommends appropriate action.
Advises clients on legal strategies, drafts proposed legislation when needed, and represents the Office of General Counsel at hearings and meetings.
