The role
The role involves providing face-to-face or remote interpreting services for public sector organisations, including hospitals, local authorities and social services, as well as private clients. Candidates should be professional, qualified and experienced interpreters, capable of working independently and managing their bookings effectively. The position requires a CRB/DBS certificate and the ability to operate as a self-employed professional responsible for tax and National Insurance contributions. Interpreters will have access to free training, ongoing professional development, and flexible working arrangements. The job demands excellent communication skills, cultural sensitivity, adaptability, independence, and proficiency in both languages. Technical knowledge of interpreting techniques and familiarity with healthcare and government terminologies are advantageous.
