The role
A Legal Counsel at NPL supports various business sectors by negotiating and drafting commercial and collaborative agreements, offering legal and compliance advice, and managing stakeholder relationships across scientific, finance, procurement, and project teams. Candidates need to possess strong organisational skills, be efficient in workload management, and able to prioritise effectively to meet deadlines. They should be pragmatic, commercially aware, and effective communicators, ideally with LPC or legal qualification and some in-house experience. Experience within technology, pharmaceutical, or defence sectors is advantageous but not essential. The role requires security clearance and the ability to work within a diverse, inclusive environment committed to equality and flexible, balanced working arrangements.
