The role
The Legal Counsel will act as the primary legal advisor to senior leadership in UK and international markets, providing commercially focused legal guidance to various business functions including marketing, procurement, and sales. They will draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, supporting strategic initiatives and product launches. The role involves advising on legal and regulatory issues relevant to FMCG, sustainability, and commercial operations, as well as developing governance frameworks, policies, and compliance programmes. Managing legal risks across multiple jurisdictions and navigating disputes, litigation, and negotiations will be key responsibilities. The successful candidate should be a solicitor with at least six years' PQE, experienced in complex contract negotiations and advising in-house or in commercial organisations. Competency in influencing senior stakeholders and communicating complex legal concepts clearly is essential in this autonomous, fast-paced environment.
