The role
A UK-based infrastructure and engineering business seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team in Leeds. The role involves advising on construction, engineering, and commercial contracts throughout their lifecycle, including drafting, review, and negotiation of agreements such as NEC and JCT contracts. The successful candidate will support commercial teams on contractual risks, manage disputes, and contribute to legal processes and governance. They should have at least six years' relevant PQE or experience, with strong skills in construction law, negotiation, and stakeholder management, preferably with in-house exposure. The role requires a pragmatic, independent legal professional capable of providing clear, practical, and commercially focused advice in a fast-paced environment.
