The role
An industrial engineer is responsible for analysing manufacturing operations to optimise processes, reduce costs, and streamline production. They develop strategic plans for new product introductions and modifications, collaborate with marketing for project forecasts, and evaluate process efficiencies. The role involves conducting cost-benefit and gap analyses, performing competitive reverse engineering, and managing supply chain diversity through sourcing and manufacturing considerations. Troubleshooting design for manufacturability issues and recommending process improvements are key duties. Candidates should have strong problem-solving skills, technical knowledge of manufacturing technologies, and proficiency in relevant software tools. This position requires effective communication with global teams and occasional travel to manufacturing sites.
