The role
Lead Medical Interpreter/Translator overseeing the daily interpreter services and ensuring workflow efficiency across clinical settings.
Performs medical interpretation and translation in consecutive, sight translation, and simultaneous modes for patients, families, and clinical teams.
Provides mentorship and supervision to staff, leads training initiatives, and contributes to policy development and program expansion.
Connects patients with resources, screens for additional needs, and participates in crisis interpretation and emergency response as required.
Assists with complex documentation translation, including After Visit Summaries, and supports cultural brokering and patient advocacy to ensure safe, respectful care.
Requires strong command of medical terminology, native-level bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, confidentiality, professionalism, and the ability to manage high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
