The role
A specialist critical care resident doctor is sought for night shifts at a private hospital in Birmingham, managing adult ICU and HDU patients. The role involves monitoring, stabilising, and managing complex cases, including ventilatory support and advanced procedures such as central venous access and airway management. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team, conducting detailed patient assessments and maintaining accurate records. Responsibilities include overseeing post-surgical patients across multiple specialties, acting as airway specialist, and supporting resuscitation efforts during emergencies. The role requires full GMC registration, postgraduate qualification, and experience in Level 3 adult critical care, with a commitment to long-term night shifts. Support during shifts includes a dedicated nurse and access to an on-call consultant, with facilities for rest and recognised high standards of patient safety and care.
