The role
A six-month opportunity is available for an experienced production journalist and assistant content editor in Birmingham, specialising in regional news broadcasting. The role involves creating content across multiple programmes and digital platforms, including online, social media, and broadcast. Candidates will produce and edit news bulletins, curate online content, and develop engaging stories relevant to a diverse audience. Strong digital production skills, media law knowledge, and excellent news judgement are essential, along with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. The position requires a full qualification in journalism or equivalent, with experience in news editing and digital storytelling preferred. The role involves working flexible hours including weekends and early mornings, with occasional travel, and offers opportunities to develop leadership in a high-profile newsroom.
