The role
The Procurement Engineer supports procurement activities for R&D projects by managing sourcing, placing purchase orders, and liaising with suppliers to ensure timely delivery. They create, process, and track purchase orders, coordinate with R&D teams to understand requirements, and update vendor data records to maintain accuracy and compliance. The role involves resolving supply issues, expediting critical orders, supporting invoice reconciliation, and facilitating negotiations and make vs buy analyses. The engineer may also implement SAP systems and perform cross-functional sourcing decision-making. Technical skills in procurement processes, SAP, and vendor management are essential, along with good communication and organisational capabilities.
