The role
The Project Engineer provides technical, research, and administrative support on a variety of civil projects within the Department of Public Works. Responsibilities include planning, design, construction inspection, survey work, project and contract management, and evaluations related to water, sewer, roads, and recreational infrastructure. Candidates should have a relevant bachelor's degree and several years' experience in engineering, survey, or construction; a valid Class D driver's licence is required. Knowledge of design standards, environmental regulations, procurement policies, and engineering software is essential. Excellent communication, record-keeping, and team working skills are also required for this role. The position requires the ability to work independently and handle sensitive public inquiries effectively.
