The role
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) seeks a proactive fact-checking and OSINT journalist to join its unit, working on real-time verification for Eurovision News. The role involves monitoring global platforms such as X, Telegram, TikTok, and Meta to identify and verify viral content using forensic analysis and geolocation techniques. The journalist will collaborate with international partners on investigating misinformation campaigns and develop resources to enhance media members' OSINT capabilities. Responsibilities include producing accurate reports, sharing insights within a remote, multi-organisational environment, and handling sensitive user-generated content with resilience. A strong understanding of digital research tools, OPSEC, and digital hygiene is essential, along with excellent command of English and additional languages being advantageous.
