The role
An Artificial Intelligence Engineer in Manchester is responsible for building and maintaining data ingestion pipelines, assessing and onboarding new data sources, and organising Jarvis's knowledge structure. They operate the evaluation harness to measure answer accuracy and freshness, and establish governance for data use, particularly involving client personal data. The role requires owning the documentation and training team members on Jarvis's functionality, troubleshooting issues, and implementing fixes at the root cause. The engineer works closely with innovators and engineers in the Pivotal Innovations Lab, ensuring the AI assistant provides improved and reliable answers. Technical skills include data engineering, working with LLM/RAG, and API integration, with a preference for candidates familiar with AWS Bedrock and LangGraph. Effective communication with non-technical colleagues and detailed documentation skills are essential.
