The role
A Health, Safety & Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring adherence to UK health and safety laws, BRC standards, ISO management systems, and FSC requirements. The role involves conducting internal and supporting external audits, developing compliance programmes, and analysing processes to identify risks. Candidates will review HACCP plans, maintain documentation, and manage corrective actions to address non-conformities. They will deliver staff training, liaise with external auditors, and monitor legislative updates to adapt policies accordingly. Strong analytical skills, audit experience, and knowledge of standards such as BRC, ISO, and FSC are essential. The position requires a NEBOSH qualification and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a structured, professional manner.
