The role
A Mechanical Manager in Southampton is responsible for leading mechanical operations across multiple marine and heavy engineering projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. They oversee the mechanical team, manage budgets, and coordinate resources including labour and materials, to deliver projects on time and within scope. The role involves reviewing technical drawings, preparing estimates, and liaising with clients and subcontractors to support business growth. Candidates should have at least five years’ experience in marine or related engineering fields, with supervisory skills and a mechanical engineering qualification. Excellent organisational, communication skills and a full UK driving licence are essential for success. Desirable experience includes marine systems, confined space work, and client-facing project delivery.
