The role
The role involves designing, developing, and implementing automated network infrastructure solutions for the Department for Work and Pensions, supporting large-scale digital services. The engineer will work on both cloud and on-premise environments across multiple providers such as AWS, Azure, and OCI, applying automation best practices. Responsibilities include leading automation initiatives, maintaining network security and resilience, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams using agile and ITIL methodologies. Candidates should have experience with Infrastructure as Code, scripting in Unix/Linux/Windows, and supporting multi-cloud solutions. The position requires strong technical skills, the ability to influence and communicate effectively, and a commitment to continuous improvement in network services. Working hours may include out-of-hours coverage for change implementation and incident support, with a potential for hybrid working arrangements.
