The role
A Staff Nurse on the Orthopaedic & Spinal Ward is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from complex surgeries. They assess, plan, and evaluate individualised patient care, monitor conditions, and respond to emergencies effectively. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is essential to coordinate holistic care and ensure patient safety. The role involves administering medications, maintaining accurate records, and supervising junior staff, with opportunities to develop leadership skills. The ideal candidate is registered with the NMC, experienced in orthopaedics or spinal nursing, and demonstrates strong clinical decision-making and communication skills. Working closely with consultants and therapists, they support patients through their surgical journey to achieve optimal recovery outcomes.
