The role
As a Data Scientist in Perception Verification and Validation, you will develop metrics and datasets to quantify the perception stack's performance.
You will collaborate with fellow data scientists, perception engineers, and systems engineers to quantify the impact of features on perception and end-to-end behavior.
You will create scalable data queries (SQL/Spark) and production-quality Python code to compute metrics, uncertainty estimates, and insights.
Analyzing large-scale metric results, you will identify failure patterns, present findings to leadership, and inform product decisions.
You will design and implement statistical methods to quantify uncertainty in performance and validation metrics.
Experience with experiment design, A/B testing, and geospatial data will help drive safety-critical improvements.
