The role
A Chemical Engineer in Southampton is responsible for supporting projects, plant modifications, and operational improvements while ensuring process safety and compliance with regulations. They analyse and identify opportunities to enhance plant reliability, efficiency, and cost performance, assisting with management of change procedures and safety requirements. The role involves monitoring KPI and utility metrics, working collaboratively with production and engineering teams to optimise processes, and leading investigations into incidents and safety concerns. Candidates should hold a degree in chemical engineering or a related field, with at least five years' experience in a chemical manufacturing setting, and possess strong knowledge of COMAH regulations and process safety. Chartered status is desirable, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills essential for success.
