The role
The procurement manager oversees and develops the purchasing department to support long-term growth in an engineering environment. They will manage the full procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, negotiations, and contract management, working closely with various internal departments and suppliers. A strong focus is placed on building relationships, negotiating commercial terms, and ensuring quality and compliance standards are met. Candidates should possess a degree, CIPS membership, and extensive purchasing experience in supply chain management. The role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include strategic procurement planning, supplier performance management, cost optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
