The role
An Oracle/SQL Database Administrator is responsible for supporting and maintaining Oracle and SQL Server databases in a highly secure environment, ensuring optimal performance and availability. The role involves monitoring database systems, troubleshooting issues, performing backups, restoring data, and applying patches and upgrades. Candidates should have strong experience in performance tuning, disaster recovery, and security compliance within regulated settings. Technical skills required include knowledge of HA/DR technologies such as AlwaysOn, Data Guard, or RAC, with ITIL or managed service experience preferred. The position demands active SC clearance, UK nationality, and a strong knowledge of database management in sensitive environments. The role is based in Manchester, with a hybrid working model that includes onsite and remote work.
