The role
Seeking a Construction Mechanical Engineer with proven expertise in boiler plants, steam systems, and high-pressure piping to support infrastructure upgrades.
Serve as a full-time onsite Owner’s Representative during planning, construction, testing, and closeout of a new boiler plant.
Responsibilities include daily onsite construction monitoring of boiler, steam, and mechanical system installations, and field inspections for code compliance.
Support commissioning and start-up activities, review mechanical submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and test procedures, and coordinate with contractors and A/E teams.
Track progress, identify risks, manage changes, and maintain accurate field documentation including redlines, QA observations, and turnover packages.
Requires knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, steam plant operations, high-pressure piping, heat exchangers, and mechanical controls, plus ability to read drawings and commissioning plans; U.S. work authorization and VA credential eligibility are required.
