The role
A Principal Practitioner Psychologist is sought to join a forensic mental health service in Birmingham, leading psychological care and assessment for complex cases. The role involves providing clinical leadership and supervision, developing evidence-based interventions, and contributing to service development and research. Candidates should possess extensive experience in handling complex mental health conditions and working within multidisciplinary teams, with a strong background in forensic or clinical psychology. Skills required include advanced psychological assessment, formulation, and psychological therapies such as CBT or similar approaches. The position offers an opportunity to influence the pathway between secure and community care, improving patient outcomes and stabilisation. It is based in Birmingham, working part-time within a community mental health setting within a specialist service.
