The role
An Environmental & Sustainability Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving environmental and energy management systems, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting sustainability initiatives at a large manufacturing site in Newport. The role involves managing ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 systems, handling permits and licences, and liaising with regulatory bodies such as Natural Resources Wales. The engineer will oversee waste management, investigate environmental incidents, and develop policies to meet legal and best practice standards. Monitoring environmental performance and identifying opportunities for continual improvement are key responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree and manufacturing experience in environmental compliance and legislation.
