The role
A Principal AI Engineer at KPMG will lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable AI systems within the Audit Technology team, working closely with data scientists, engineers, and auditors. The role involves mentoring engineers, ensuring best practices in MLOps and software engineering, and driving automation and observability in AI pipelines. Responsibilities include overseeing full AI lifecycle management, implementing governance controls, and fostering knowledge sharing to enhance internal capabilities. The engineer will utilise technologies such as Azure ML, Databricks, and LangChain, applying compliance and ethical standards. Strong leadership, communication skills, and technical expertise in AI and cloud platforms are essential. The position requires a relevant advanced degree or equivalent experience, with proficiency in Python and ML libraries.
