The role
The role involves providing psychological assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions for adults with bipolar disorder and related conditions within a secondary care setting. The post holder will work alongside multidisciplinary teams to support service delivery, develop skills in family and cognitive therapies, and contribute to research and training activities. It requires a doctoral qualification in clinical or counselling psychology, experience with complex mental health difficulties, and knowledge of psychological therapies including CBT and family interventions. The position offers opportunities for professional development, leadership, and involvement in service innovation. The work is predominantly face-to-face, with some online elements, within Birmingham's mental health services. The role is subject to UK registration and criminal background checks.
