The role
A Network Access Planning Engineer at NESO is responsible for developing and optimising outage plans for Britain’s electricity grid across various time horizons, from six years ahead to the same day. The role involves producing secure, cost-effective system configurations for control room operations, managing transmission constraint costs, and liaising with teams and customers to resolve access conflicts. The engineer will also innovate solutions when standard approaches fall short and will work within a technical environment employing AC and DC system analysis tools. Suitable candidates should have a technical background, analytical skills, and the ability to communicate clearly, with a keen interest in learning about power systems. The role offers hybrid working in Wokingham, with potential for some on-site presence, and involves continuous professional development within a well-structured team.
